2. Lowestoft and East Suffolk Maritime Museum
Lowestoft and East Suffolk Maritime Museum is situated beside the North Sea in Lowestoft’s beautiful Sparrow’s Nest Gardens and offers an interesting day out, hours full of enjoyment and discovery for everyone.

The museum offers a range of displays and exhibitions, with many activities including lots of family activities – making it a great day out with children. There is also a small cinema where you can see amazing archive film. At the museum, there is plenty to see and do so make sure to visit if you plan on going to Lowestoft.

4. Somerleyton Hall and Gardens
Somerleyton Hall and Gardens is a fully working estate, popular with locals and tourists. Take a visit to the walled garden and discover some of the most beautiful gardens and greenhouses – don’t miss out on seeing the 70ft long pergola, which is home to many stunning flowers such as roses, wisteria, clematis and vines.
There is also a hedge maze, which is the finest yew hedge maze in Britain and was planted back in 1846. The maze is around 800 yards from the centre, but most visitors love to explore the maze’s mysteries. For a less active day out, why not stroll around Somerleyton’s pleasure gardens? You’ll love the rhododendrons, azaleas and wonderful collection of trees including monkey puzzle, tulip trees, giant redwood and many more.

5. Corton Woods
Corton Woods Local Nature Reserve provides information about the birds and RSPB and fundraisers for local reserves. You can meet on the first Friday of each month, where there are informative talks on wildlife, habitats and conservation.
Each month there are one or more field meetings, where you can travel to reserves and see birds in their habitat. There are many events each year, including conservation at Minsmere in the winter. If you love birds and wildlife, it’s a great place to go where you will learn all about their habitats and to help them in the great outdoors.
