Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre is situated with beautiful scenery of Cardigan Bay and the Cambrian Mountains. It is popular with many locals and visitors, as there are walking trails, hiking trains, cycle trails, horse riding trails and much more.

It is famous for its tradition of daily feeding of red kites, Wales’s National Bird of Prey. There are so many trails for different levels of exercise, such as three waymarked walking trails, three mountain bike trails, two running trails and a circular trail for horse riders.

2. Vale of Rheidol Railway

Sit back and relax, while Vale of Rheidol Railway takes you on a journey through some of Wales’ most beautiful countryside. The railway opened in 1902 had has been much loved by travellers for over a century.

4. Aberystwyth Cliff Railway

Aberystwyth Cliff Railway situates within the northern end of Aberystwyth promenade, Constitution Hill and rises high from the sea, offering amazing views down into the town, Cardigan Bay and even the mountain peaks of Wales – if it’s a bright day!

5. Haford Uchtryd

Haford Uchtryd is located 12 miles south east of Aberystwyth and is known as one of the most beautiful examples in Europe, which offers many picturesque landscapes. The owner of Haford Uchtryd, Thomas Johnes built a new house in its location and laid out its grounds in a manner for displaying its natural beauties. He also used the land for farming, forestry and gardening. Hafod became a popular destination in the early tourist years of Wales.

The estate now has some 200 hectares of the Ystwyth valley and surrounding countryside. It is most owned by Natural Resources Wales, joint with the Hafod Trust and manages a restoration and conservation project with private and public funding.
